The County is one of the largest DWP customers in the City of Los Angeles, but its facilities outside the City are currently served at substantially higher cost by Southern California Edison. Another County-supported bill, AB 40 X1 (Steinberg), would appropriate $350 million for grants to local governments to fund energy efficiency and conservation projects; a committee hearing is pending. In the meantime, Yaroslavsky is urging interested consumers to click on home and office for energy-saving tips from the County's Department of Consumer Affairs.
