YAROSLAVSKY REAPPOINTS VENICE ATTORNEY LUCIEN WULSIN TO HOSPITALS COMMISSION

Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has reappointed Venice attorney Lucien Wulsin, Jr. to the County Hospitals and Health Care Delivery Commission.

"I’m very pleased that Lucien has agreed to continue representing me on the Commission," Yaroslavsky said. "His 30 years of experience in the low-income health care field offer an important perspective the panel needs to hear."

Yaroslavsky’s health-care priorities include improving access to health care for the poor and uninsured; the Healthy Student Partnership, a proposed collaboration with area school districts to provide health care to uninsured children; boosting enrollment in low-cost government-sponsored insurance programs; improving pediatric trauma services in the San Fernando Valley, and winning renewal of the County’s federal Medicaid waiver.

Wulsin has been a health-care consultant for the California Assembly, and previously served with the National Health Law Program and Greater Boston Legal Services. He is a member of the state and national Bar associations.

Duties of the 15-member Commission include advising and offering recommendations to the Director of Health Services and the Board of Supervisors on all patient care issues.
