YAROSLAVSKY APPOINTS AEROSPACE ENGINEER AND FAIRFAX RESIDENT ARON WOLF TO AVIATION COMMISSION

Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has reappointed Aron A. Wolf, an aerospace engineer who serves as a member of the technical staff for the Outer Planet Mission Analysis Group at Pasadena’s Caltech/JPL, to serve as a member of the Los Angeles County Aviation Commission.

"I’m very pleased that Aron has agreed to continue his service as one of my two appointees to the Commission," Yaroslavsky said. "As an aerospace engineer for Caltech/JPL for the past 15 years, and a private aircraft owner, pilot, and volunteer FAA Air Safety Counselor, he brings outstanding qualifications to this position."

Wolf, a resident of the Fairfax district, holds an M.S. from the University of Michigan in Aeronautical Engineering and has been a licensed pilot since 1973 and a flight instructor since 1975. Logging more than 3800 hours total flight time, he has been active in flying clubs across the country and here at El Monte Airport.

Duties of the 10-member County Aviation Commission include considering and tendering recommendations to the Board of Supervisors regarding the County’s Master Plan for airports and heliports, issuance of related permits and regulations, acquisition of sites, and other matters affecting County aviation operations.
