November 2, 1999 YAROSLAVSKY ANNOUNCES NEW STORM DRAIN PROJECT FOR WOODLAND HILLS Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has announced Board approval of a new project to construct a storm drain system in Woodland Hills on and around Platt Avenue north of Valley Circle Boulevard. Yaroslavsky said the work would be performed under a $3.2 million contract awarded to Miramontes Construction Co., Inc. of Industry, lowest of five bids which ranged up to $4.8 million. The storm drain system, which will consist of 9,600 feet of storm drain on portions of Aetna Street, Kenwater Avenue, Calvert Street, Le Sage Avenue, Hatteras Street, and Burbank Boulevard. Additional drains will run along Califa Street from Crosson Drive to Platt, and in Tiara Street and Hinton Avenue. The County's Department of Public Works will administer the project. Construction is expected to begin in December and be completed in June. Once underway, traffic on affected streets may be reduced to one lane or closed to through traffic during construction hours. Local access will be maintained at all times.
