November 1, 1999 YAROSLAVSKY URGES BURBANK AIRPORT AUTHORITY TO PROTECT VALLEY RESIDENTS, PERMIT EASTERLY AIRLINE DEPARTURES Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky recently sent the attached letter to Burbank Mayor Stacey Murphy and Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority Carl Meseck rejecting a proposed permanent ban on eastern departures of commercial aircraft from Burbank Airport. In the letter, Yaroslavsky noted that San Fernando Valley residents in Valley Village, North Hollywood, Studio City and Sherman Oaks would suffer disproportionately from aircraft noise under the plan, which is contained in a proposed "Framework for Settlement" between the Airport and the City of Burbank.
