YAROSLAVSKY APPOINTS WESTLAKE VILLAGE MAYOR PRO TEM JAMES B. HENDERSON TO LOCAL GOVERNMENTAL SERVICES PANEL

Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has appointed James B. Henderson, Mayor Pro Tem of Westlake Village, to serve as one of his two appointees to the Los Angeles County Local Governmental Services Commission.

"I'm very pleased that Jim has agreed to represent me on this panel," Yaroslavsky said. "He's been deeply involved in all aspects of local governance and overseeing the provision of municipal services to his community in the Las Virgenes area for many years, and it would be hard to find a more experienced and committed individual on this issue."

Yaroslavsky noted that Henderson, a retired aerospace marketing and engineering executive, has served on numerous boards and committees engaged in civic, cultural, charitable, health and utility-related issues, and was a leader in the drive to establish Westlake Village as in incorporated city in the early 1980s.

Duties of the 21-member Local Governmental Services Commission include an ongoing examination of intergovernmental jurisdictional alternatives to provide more responsive and cost-effective municipal services to the public.
