YAROSLAVSKY ANNOUNCES VENICE, MARINA WATER MAIN INSTALLATION PLANNED

Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has announced that a project will soon be underway to install more than 5,200 feet of 24-inch steel pipe water main in the Venice and Marina del Rey areas.

Officials have scheduled August 31 for opening bids on the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works-administered project. The new line will run along Washington Boulevard west of Oxford Avenue; along Abbott Kinney Boulevard from Washington Boulevard to Victoria Avenue, up Victoria Avenue to Shell Avenue, and on Shell Avenue over to Venice Boulevard.

The project should be completed in 100 working days, beginning in November and concluding in April.

Public Works officials said that traffic and local access might be mildly disrupted during construction.
