YAROSLAVSKY ANNOUNCES RETAINING WALL, GUARDRAIL REPAIRS FOR OLD TOPANGA CANYON ROAD

Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has announced that a project will soon be underway to construct a retaining wall and install guardrails on Old Topanga Canyon Road near Mile Marker 2.15 in Calabasas.

Officials have scheduled August 17 for opening bids on the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works-administered project.

"This project will stabilize and restore some of the embankment that was eroded during last year’s storms," Yaroslavsky said. He noted that it would be financed in part through the Federal and State Disaster Assistance Program.

Starting in November, officials expect the project to take 45 working days and be completed in January. Old Topanga Canyon Road will have one lane for both directions controlled by stop signs at each end.
