| July 21, 1999 YAROSLAVSKY REAPPOINTS MICHAEL A. RUSSELL TO SYBIL BRAND COMMISSION FOR INSTITUTIONAL INSPECTIONS Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has announced the reappointment of businessman Michael A. Russell to the Sybil Brand Commission for Institutional Inspections. Russell is Vice President and Director for P & R Metals, Inc. in Compton, where his responsibilities include inspecting metals, machinery and equipment to determine their value. He was first appointed in February 1997. "I'm very pleased that Michael has agreed to continue serving as one of my representatives on the Commission," Yaroslavsky said. "His expertise in valuation and interpreting records, logs and data sheets have been invaluable in carrying out the work of the Inspection Commission to ensure that our facilities are safely, cleanly, and properly maintained and operated." Duties of the 10-member Commission include annual visits and inspection of each County jail and lockup, probation, correctional and toy-loan facility to ensure their appropriate operation.
