YAROSLAVSKY APPOINTS JOHN M. EDELSTON TO EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES COMMISSION

Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has announced the appointment of health-care executive and Agoura Hills resident John M. Edelston to the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Commission.

Prior to assuming his position with HealthPro Associates, Edelston served as Vice President, Operations and Management for the Hospital Council of Southern California (now the Healthcare Association of Southern California) from 1982-86, and for the previous six years as Division Director for the American Heart Association, Greater Los Angeles Affiliate. His professional affiliations include membership on the Board of Directors of Health Care Executives of Southern California, among other positions.

Duties of the 16-member Commission include providing advice and analysis to the Board of Supervisors on issues and policies concerning emergency medical care delivery throughout Los Angeles County.
