YAROSLAVSKY REAPPOINTS DANIEL COHEN TO COUNTY COMMISSION ON AGING

Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has announced the reappointment of Santa Monica resident Daniel Cohen to the Los Angeles County Commission on Aging.

"I'm pleased that Daniel has elected to continue his service on the Commission," Yaroslavsky said. "As a retired electrician affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, active in several senior organizations such as the American Association of Retired Persons, the California Senior Legislature and the Congress of California Seniors, Daniel brings energy, focus and wisdom to the Commission's efforts."

Duties of the 45-member Commission include advising the Board of Supervisors and various County departments offering services to the aging, assisting local communities and groups in developing services for seniors, providing a general education program aimed at promoting self-sufficiency in the County's senior community, and raising general public consciousness on senior issues.
