YAROSLAVSKY ANNOUNCES COMPLETION OF PARKWAY CALABASAS RAMP AND BRIDGE PROJECT

Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has announced the completion and final acceptance of a project to widen the ramps and bridge on the Ventura Freeway at the northbound Parkway Calabasas exit.

Yaroslavsky noted that the final contract amount for the work, performed by Morrison Knudsen Corporation, was $3,783,476.57.

Following a public hearing nearly two years ago, a Lost Hills Road-Las Virgenes Road Bridge and Major Thoroughfare Construction Fee District was established, affecting new commercial and residential development only, to generate the $10 million needed for a package of seven roadway and bridge improvement projects in the area.

Yaroslavsky said the improvements will help offset traffic congestion due to continuing development. In addition to the Parkway Calabasas project, they include work to reopen a section of Agoura Road between Liberty Canyon and the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station, improvements at the Las Virgenes Road and Agoura Road intersection, widening the Agoura Road bridge at Las Virgenes Creek, and widening and median improvements on Las Virgenes Road, including those at the westbound Ventura Freeway offramp.
