YAROSLAVSKY REAPPOINTS POLITICAL ACTIVIST DONNA BOJARSKY TO HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION
Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has reappointed political activist and community leader Donna Bojarsky, a resident of the Fairfax area, to the Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations.
"I'm delighted that Donna has agreed to continue serving on the Commission as one of my representatives," Yaroslavsky said. "She has been one of our most active, dynamic and creative members, and shes a real asset to the Commission's work."
First appointed to the County Human Relations Commission in 1996, Bojarsky has served since 1989 as Public Policy Advisor to actor Richard Dreyfuss. She is a co-founder and chair of LA Works, a non-profit public action center that recruits volunteers for targeted public service projects, and has helped found and served on the boards of several other volunteer and community service groups. A veteran of many political campaigns, Bojarsky has also served on the staffs of Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley and Assemblyman Richard Katz. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate in Political Science, with honors, from Brandeis University.
Duties of the 15-member Commission include a range of advisory, research and program activities aimed at eradicating prejudice, intolerance and discrimination.
