YAROSLAVSKY ANNOUNCES KANAN DUME ROAD REPAVING PROJECT

Board of Supervisors Chairman Zev Yaroslavsky has announced that a project will soon be underway to repave Kanan Dume Road from Tunnel Number 1 to 2,560 feet north of Cavalleri Road  near Malibu.

The work will be performed under a $497,670 contract awarded to Sully-Miller Contracting Company, of Anaheim, winner among six bidders, with the highest being $668,435.

Department of Public Works officials expect the project to take 35 working days, with an estimated start in February and completion in March.  Once work begins, Kanan Dume Road may be reduced to two traffic lanes, one lane for each direction, and a left-turn lane where existing when not in conflict with construction.
