YAROSLAVSKY ANNOUNCES PROJECT FORCHANNEL ACCESS RAMP IN STUDIO CITY

Board of Supervisors Chairman Zev Yaroslavsky has announced plans to contract for improvements to County flood control facilities, including the construction of a flood control channel access ramp in the Los Angeles River at the Nichols Canyon Sediment Placement Site, in the area of Studio City.

In addition to the reinforced concrete ramp, work at this site will include construction of an access road, reinforced concrete retaining walls with chain link fence, and a double drive gate.

The project is part of the County's ongoing program for the construction and maintenance of its extensive flood control system.

The County Department of Public Works will open bids January 15 on a contract to perform the work.  The project is expected to take 60 working days, starting in April and ending in July.
