YAROSLAVSKY ANNOUNCES MULTIMEDIA KIOSK NETWORK FOR COUNTY JOB SEEKERS

Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has announced an innovative new program for County job seekers: a multi-media, interactive network of 13 information kiosks strategically placed throughout the County.

Yaroslavsky said the network of touch-screen electronic information booths provides immediate information about job opportunities, career counseling, job bank linkages, job search assistance, child care, transportation, One-Stop Career Center locations, community resources, and other County services and programs.

He noted that while the kiosks function independently, they have the ability to link electronically with other entities via the Internet, featuring English/Spanish text screens, high-resolution graphics, print-out capabilities, stereo sound, and video streaming playback.

Third District locations for the L.A. Employment Information Kiosks include the San Fernando Public Library, 1050 Library Street in the City of San Fernando, and the San Fernando Valley Service Center, 7555 Van Nuys Boulevard in Van Nuys.
