April 11, 2000 YAROSLAVSKY ANNOUNCES NEW ACCESS RAMP FOR ALISO CREEK IN NORTHRIDGE Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has announced that a new project will soon be underway to construct an access ramp into Aliso Creek channel and repair the concrete channel bottom. Yaroslavsky said that the new ramp will cut the cost of maintaining the channel, and the repairs to the concrete bottom will extend its service life. The work will be performed between Plummer Street and Nordhoff Street and Wilbur Avenue and Vanalden Avenue in the Northridge area. The County's Department of Public Works will unseal contract bids on May 2 for the project, which is expected to cost between $170,000 and $200,000. Construction is expected to start in June and take 60 working days to complete, ending in September. Existing traffic lanes on Wilbur Avenue and adjacent streets will be maintained at all times.
