YAROSLAVSKY ANNOUNCES HOLLYHILLS STORM DRAIN EXTENSION IN BEVERLY CENTER

Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has announced that a project will soon be underway to construct a new portion of the Hollyhills Drain project in the Beverly Center area. This unit consists of installing a small storm drain lateral in 3rd Street from La Cienega Boulevard to Croft Avenue and in La Cienega Boulevard from Blackburn Avenue to 3rd Street.

Yaroslavsky noted that the work is part of a major storm drain system which has been underway through portions of Los Angeles, West Hollywood, and Beverly Hills.

"This project will help protect residents in this area by alleviating flooding," Yaroslavsky explained.

Bids will be unsealed March 28 for the project, with an estimated cost between $550,000 and $650,000.

Construction is expected to take 28 calendar days, beginning in May and ending in June. To minimize the impact on local businesses and residents, construction will be avoided during peak traffic periods.
