March 22, 2000 YAROSLAVSKY REAPPOINTS CALABASAS RESIDENT MELINDA MERRYFIELD-BECKER TO LOS ANGELES COUNTY WEST VECTOR CONTROL DISTRICT Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has reappointed Calabasas resident and environmental scientist Melinda Merryfield-Becker to the West Vector Control District. "Im very pleased that Melinda has agreed to continue serving as my appointee to the District," Yaroslavsky said. "As a community leader, a trained scientist, and an active equestrian, shes been a great asset to this panel." Merryfield-Becker currently serves as Environmental Manager for the California Regional Water Quality Control Board. In addition to her professional activities, she has served on the Citizens Advisory Commission for the Ventura Freeway Corridor Areawide Plan, is a past president of the Monte Nido Valley Community Association and a delegate to the Las Virgenes Homeowners Federation, and is active in Corral 36 of Equestrian Trails, Inc. Duties of the Vector Control District are to take all appropriate steps for the extermination of mosquitoes, flies and other insects in or near the District.
